ZK2V - DXpedition plan

30th August 2011

Our DXpedition plan is a simple one - work 50000 stations !  In 2009 we experienced poor propagation conditions, so we are hoping that things are better in 2011.

We intend to use the main 4 bands 40m/30m/20m/17m to make the maximum number of QSOs overall, but will also be concentrating on 160m and 80m - there are many operators worldwide who need ZK2 on 160m and 80m. We will have improved TX antennas and Beverages on 160m and 80m, to overcome the local QRN which is a problem on Niue. We have a new antenna for 15m/12m/10m so will be looking for openings on these bands e.g. Long Path to Europe.

We also intend to operate RTTY at times - again there is demand worldwide for RTTY QSOs with ZK2. We hope to be issued with a permit to operate 60m as in 2009, but will only spend limited time on this band.

ZK2V 2011 will have some new features - real-time logging using WinTest, a real-time Google map showing the exact location of every station worked and an interactive map showing how many stations have been worked from each DXCC entity.   (Thanks Pete G4CLA and Max IK8LOV)

More information soon....

I hope to work you from ZK2V !          73  Chris  ZL1CT/GM3WOJ      www.qsl.net/gm3woj
